Why DBRepairs exists

DBRepairs is designed for repair shops that need customer records, device information, repair status tracking and printable intake documents without turning the workflow into a large ERP project. The desktop edition keeps deployment simple, while the server edition supports a shared database when several computers need the same live information.

Two deployment models

For one workstation, DBRepairs stores data locally in SQLite and requires no database server. For a counter, office and additional workstations, the Docker edition uses a browser frontend, API and PostgreSQL database so simultaneous edits are coordinated centrally. The same domain workflow is preserved across both editions.

Data portability and recovery

Native backups are available for disaster recovery on each database engine, while the portable .dbrepairs format can transfer application data between desktop SQLite and server PostgreSQL. This separation avoids pretending that a raw SQLite file and a PostgreSQL dump are interchangeable.
